She was a native and longtime resident of the Sulphur-Lake Charles area and had been a living in Franklin for the last 4 years. She was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle. Verdie enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, especially Wiz, watching Jean Claude Van Damme movies, and listening to Elvis Presley music.
Survivors include her son, Paul Gobert of Franklin; five grandchildren, Josh Gobert, Renee' Sandovale, Amber "Nikki" Gobert, Koury Gobert, and Rita Julia Gobert; and great-grandchildren, Lukas, Noah, Riley, and Mia.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. The Rev. Clay Fontenot will officiate. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
