Victoria Mae Navarre, 68, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. She was born to her late parents, Louis and Maria Costin on November 8, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Delta College for Stenograph. Victoria worked for Fillasac as a teenager. She was a carpenter by trade and worked for Lafayette Woodworks for a number of years. Victoria worked for Shoney's and Bonanza, and just loved being around people and helping in any way she could.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mitchell Navarre, Sr.; two sons, Mitchell Navarre (Bobbie), Michael Navarre (Krista); one daughter, Michelle Miller (Katina) all of Sulphur, Louisiana; two brothers, John Buckner (Linda) of West Monroe, Louisiana, Joe Buckner (Angie) of Asheville, North Carolina; one sister, June Johnson of Mars Hill, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Harley, Bailee, Alyssa, Kaydanz, Keelan, and Parker; along with two grand dogs, Kooper and Ryver.
Victoria is preceded in death by her parents; along with her brother, Lee Buckner.
A Celebration of Victoria's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Don Snider officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph #2 Cemetery in Rayne, Louisiana.
Pallbearers are: Harley Navarre, Keelan St. Germain, Parker Navarre, Jayden Fontenot, B.J. Fontenot, and Dustin Buckner. Honorary Pallbearers are: Mitchell Navarre, Jr., Michael Navarre, and John Burgess.
