Walter Leroy Watts

He was a native and lifelong resident of the Lake Charles-Sulphur area. Walter enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and was a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church. He dedicated many years of his career to Citgo, where he served as a Lab Shift Foreman.

Survivors include his son, Andrew "Drew" Watts and wife, Marsha of Sulphur; his sister, Leta Beaugh and husband, Jack of Lafayette; his grandson, Landon Marcantel and wife, Saige; and great-grandson, River Marcantel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billie Andrew Watts and Dale Parker Watts; and his brothers, Leonard Ray Watts and William Andrew "Little Drew" Watts.

A Celebration of Walter's Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 18, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Tyler Espinosa. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
