He was a native of Port Arthur, Texas and had been a resident of the Sulphur-Lake Charles area for the last 50 years. Wayne was a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jean LaGrappe of Sulphur; his daughters, Kristie Hunnicutt and husband, Brice of Longview, Texas and Kodie Manning and husband, Dr. Bryan Manning of Sulphur; his brother, Bryan LaGrappe and wife, Jewell of Dickinson, Texas; his sister, Andrea Phillips and husband, Barney of Sealey, Texas; his niece, Laura Phillips; and his grandchildren, Craig and Erin Hunnicutt, and Stone, Henry, and Crane Manning.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, July 16, in Maplewood First Baptist Church. Dr. Jeremy Blocker and Dr. Ronnie Burke will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service Monday in the church.
