She was a native of Cravens and was a longtime resident of Bossier City before recently moving to Sulphur. Winnie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Ann Rushing and husband, Michael of Carlyss; two sons, Randolph Thompson of Bossier City and Earl Rodney Thompson of Mansfield; one brother, Romelzia White of DeRidder; four sisters, Annette Simmons of Bossier City, Bobby Gibson of DeRidder, Ruth Deason of Pitkin, and Edna Moses of DeRidder; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 16, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Degg will officiate. Burial will be in Drakes Fork Cemetery in Cravens. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
