

Luanne Havens was born May 28, 1937 to Jack and Joanne Cowan in Douglas, North Dakota. She passed away peacefully on March 25, 2011 with family by her side. She had nine brothers and five sisters. On July 22, 1955 Luanne married Harold Havens. Six children were born of this fifty-five year union; as well as nine grandchildren. Harold and Luanne moved to Washington in spring of 1957. Most of Luanne’s life was spent raising her children and participating in their activities. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events and activities. She was grateful for coming from such a large family, and her love for them was evident. Luanne was a devout Catholic and was very involved in her church. She attended St. Andrew Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, and spent many hours volunteering her time. Her strength and devotion to family, church and community will be greatly missed. Luanne had a great sense of adventure. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Idaho, as well as camping, hiking, gardening, traveling and taking walks around the park. She loved to cook and bake; especially for family. She had a love for learning and spent many hours in Spanish class over the recent years.Throughout her life Luanne had several different career interests in which she spent some time teaching, selling real estate and bookkeeping. She liked keeping her mind active through work and enjoyed the social aspect as well. In her last position she worked with her son,Butch and always claimed it was “the best job she’s ever had!”Luanne is survived by sons, Tim (Janine) Havens of Florence, SC, Butch (Jaime) Havens of Ellensburg, WA, Scott Havens of Cle Elum, WA; daughters, Sheryl Havens of Tukwila, WA, Debbie (Ron) Anderson of Lake Stevens, WA; grandsons, Garrett, Stan and Luke Havens (Tim), Troy Havens (Scott), Kyle and Kinsey Johnson, and Kael Anderson (Debbie); granddaughters, Aanya Havens (Sheryl), Savannah Anderson (Debbie). Luanne was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack, Bob, Don and son, Jeff.
