

Norman Ramey Johnson was born on Jan. 17, 1927 to Frank and Myrtie Johnson in Govan, Washington. He passed away June 4, 2017 in Issaquah, WA following a brief illness. He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie A. Buhl of Maple Valley (husband Steven A. Buhl); sons, Steven N. Johnson of Los Angeles, CA and Gary A. Johnson of Whidbey Island, WA.; sister, Loraine Lute of Spokane Valley; two grandchildren, Daniel D. Ward, Desiree S. Ward; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kenneth E. Ward; his two sisters and his wives: Rose M. Johnson, Helen Clark Johnson, and Dorothy E. Johnson. When not working at Boeing for 30 years Norman, loved to work with wood, boat and travel. He earned two Bachelor Degrees. A man of many talents, Norman was an experienced woodcarver who specialized in Northwest Coastal Indian Art, winning many ribbons at woodcarving competitions for his Indian masks, figures, plaques and totems. Norman will be buried at the Almira Cemetery next to his parents and family. Memorials may be made in Norman's name to the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters.
