

“GONE HUNTING”
On February 15th 2015, we lost our rock, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Roy William Heitmann was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 20th, 1943 to Claus William & Catherine Harrison Heitmann. He was raised in Blairstown, NJ, running farm tractors by the age of six, learned the value of being a hard worker, became a skillful hunter, and taught to care deeply for other. Roy served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966, as a tank driver in Korea. Upon returning to the United States he served as a cook at Ft. Lewis Army Base where he met and married his wife, Norma Sirgedas after a 21 day courtship; celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary on August 27th 2014. Roy was one of the original three who started Northwest Cascade in November 1967. He was a member of I.U.O.E Local 612, having retired on Sept. 5th, 2006. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1949 and the Eagle Aerie #175. He served on the City of Pacific Fire Department from 1970 to 1990, first as a volunteer firefighter, then 11 years as assistant Chief and finally 8 years as the Chief. Roy was an avid stock car driver at Spanaway Speedway and an active member of the Washington ATV Association. He had a love and passion for hunting, fishing, camping, and always devoted to his family and friends. Roy was predeceased by his parents (Claus W & Catherine Harrison Heitmann), parent in-laws (Jess & Mary Worley), infant grandson (T.J. Sirgedas), brother in-law (Timothy Worley), and sister in-law (Carol Worley). Roy is survived by his wife Norma of 48 years; children: Tony (Lori) Sirgedas, Thomas Sirgedas, Joe (Kathy) Heitmann and Wendy Heitmann; sister Marilyn (Bud) Grandin, grandchildren: Chris (Heather) Austin, Tom (Lisa) Austin, Nikki (Kyle) Fosnes, Jairus Sirgedas, Josh Heitmann, Brittany (Zach) Long, Nick Griffin, Keasha (Jesse) Herron, and Kyle Kendall; great grandchildren: Corbin, Jordan, Tom, Sidney, Rowan, Elly, Kaylene, Keelan, Keegan, and Kloie; nephews Kyle (Amy) Grandin and Jason (Sarah) Grandin, great nieces Riley, Emma and Caprice and extended family: Julius Upshur, Marie Bonnett, Tia Bonnett, and Kari (Michael) Devietro; and devoted pup Katie.
