

Alice May (Ottaway) Wolf of Sun City West Arizona, passed on to her eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 12, 2026 at the age of 97. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania on St. Patrick’s Day 1928, daughter of the late Merle J. and Edna (Farver) Ottaway, she worked at the Erie County Courthouse where she rose to become the “youngest” Deputy County Treasurer and Deputy Recorder of Deeds until she retired to pursue her most cherished career as a full-time homemaker. She was passionate about music and loved singing with several church choirs and organizations, among which were Zions and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Churches (58+ years), Covenant Presbyterian Church (20+ years), the Erie Philharmonic Chorus (45+ years), and the Chautauqua Regional Choir (25+ years). She also loved travelling and explored many of the 50 states and four continents, including North America, Europe (France, Switzerland, Italy and Greece), Africa (Kenya) and Asia (South Korea). She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Edwin Walter Wolf, and survived by her only son, Eric Edwin Wolf of Sun City West, AZ, a niece (Sharon Barteldt of Pennsylvania), a nephew (Keith Holdsworth of South Carolina), a great niece (Erin Honeycutt of South Carolina), a great nephew (Brandon Kuhn of Ohio) as well as several cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her name, to your favorite charity.
