

Anna Rose Adams Caraway, 91 years old, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away January 18, 2017 from complications of a hip fracture. Anna was born October 6, 1925 in Clinton, Missouri to Clyde Adams and Elva Cagle Billingsley Adams. She grew up with six siblings: Troy Billingsley (half-brother), Doris Billingsley (half-sister), Teresa Adams Lanz, Carl Adams, Murtice Adams Beck, and William (Bill) Adams. Anna married Otis Caraway July 11, 1948. They later divorced in the early 70’s and Anna never remarried. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, belonged to the Communications Workers Union and Phoenix Deer Valley Senior Center. Anna was a high school graduate (Searcy, Arkansas) and took some college courses for recreation. She also went to a special trade school through Western Union. Anna enjoyed reading and traveling. She lived in Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, California, and Arizona. Anna is survived by her children, John Caraway (Cheryl) 10/18/1950, Morris Caraway (Cecilia) 02/20/1955 and Norman Caraway 08/17/1960; six grandchildren, Keith Caraway, Evan Caraway, Aaron Caraway, Valarie Kirby (Step), Heather Caraway and Jamie Niederer, 15 great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Caraway, Elise Caraway (Step), Ethan Caraway, Emarose Stewart, Brayden Niederer, Jerom Stewart, Aiden Caraway, Alexis Niederer, Layla Kirby (Step), Summer Caraway, Caleb Niederer, Ellie Caraway, Olivia Kirby (Step), Piper Caraway and Kaysen Caraway, sister, Teresa Adams Lanz, and nieces, Janet Masters, Kathy Lanz, Gerry King and Dureta Sharp. Her parents and five of her siblings precede her in death. Arrangements are under the care of Sunland Mortuary.
