Arlene Mae Carlson, 90, of Peoria,AZ went home to be with her Lord on May 10, 2019. She was born on July 25,1928 to Leonard and Edith Halstrom, one of nine children in Cherokee, IA. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Carlson, her son Lynn, and her grandson Tyler Anderson. She is survived by her children, Paul Carlson of Sun City, AZ, June (Mark) Woolston of Glendale, AZ, Linda (Doug) Klein of Peoria, AZ, Sharon Lewis of Prescott Valley, AZ, Carol (Scott) Anderson of Cherokee, IA, and Loraine (Jon) Brinton of Peoria, AZ; as well as her 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Arlene was born on a farm in Cherokee, IA and married Delbert on September 25,1948. They faithfully attended Oakdale Evangelical Free Church where they were very active members. In 1973 they moved to Phoenix, AZ where they attended Bethany Bible Church and Palmcroft Church.
Arlene Carlson’s love of God and family were central to her life. She loved her family more than anything on this earth, but even more was her love for God. Arlene was a prayer warrior like no other. She spent a great deal of her life, especially in later years, covering her family in prayer. A verse that Arlene quoted a lot was James 5:16B “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.
Arlene, you will be missed. You were greatly loved by your family, but we rejoice that we will see you again in heaven.
