Bertha Frances Anderson passed away on May 17, 2021 from congestive heart failure. She was 88 years old. Frances was born at home in Kahoka, Missouri, on June 23, 1932 to Thomas and Ethel Spurgeon. She graduated from St Patrick High School in St Patrick Missouri. She married LeRoy Scoggin in 1954 and had two children Mary and Tom. LeRoy Scoggin died in 1984. She married Bob Anderson in 1998 and became part of his family. Bob passed away in 2017.
Frances was preceded in death by two Brothers John and Huck Spurgeon and one Sister Mary Rogers. She is survived by one Brother Chet Spurgeon (Pat); Daughter Mary Cobb (Rodney), Son Tom Scoggin (Debbie), three step-children: Marty Anderson, Kurt Anderson (Toni), and Lynn Gabriel (Clarence); five grandchildren: Brian Baker (Rachel), Nate Baker (Stephanie) Laura Zigment (Mike), Kate Reynolds (Ted), Jacob Scoggin; six step grandchildren: Barbi Hamilton, Gina Blair, Kim Humphrey (Erik), Melissa Melton (Tim), Andrea Key, and Jeanne Frost. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, and long-time friend Ed Darling.
Frances worked hard all her life as a wife, mother, farmer, factory worker, Administrator, Realtor, and Christian College Recruiter. She also served as a missionary in Alaska and was a Deaconess at her church. She enjoyed her family, travel, and her love of God and country. She will be sorely missed by her family, many friends and neighbors.
Frances asked that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers.
