

Born in Carroll, Iowa, Betty was born to Lola and Earl Brady on March 10, 1922 and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years Art Flynn. During their years together they lived in several cities, including Des Moines Iowa, Dallas, Texas, Seattle, Washington and St. Paul, Minnesota.
Betty is survived by her 3 children Patrick (sp. Shelly) of Sauk Rapids, MN, John (sp. Allison) of Southlake, TX and Anne (sp. Dave) Kniffin of St. Paul, MN. Betty loved her 9 grandchildren Chris, Robert, Dan, Mary, Mike, Laura, Rachel, David and Maria, and 3 great grandchildren Emma, Ethan and Brady.
Betty was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes and Prince of Peace Catholic Church, a member of Catholic Daughters and various alumni and social groups. Betty spent the last 12 years of her life at Grandview Terrace, surrounded by great friends and especially the experienced, gracious and caring staff.
At a young age, following graduation from Iowa State University, Betty began her career as a female pioneer in both radio and television broadcasting. Betty ultimately hosted her own radio, and then television programs in Des Moines, IA and Cincinnati, OH.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 10AM Thursday, January 26, 2017, 19002 N. 128th Ave., Sun City West, AZ 85375 with internment immediately following mass at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City West, AZ 85351. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
