

Betty Jo Cheney, 86, of Prescott Valley, passed away on November 23, 2013. She was born in Faucett, MO in 1927 to Myron and Anna Ellen “Dolly” Spencer. In 1946 Betty Jo married George E. Cheney and they remained in MO until 1956 when they moved to Arizona. After retirement, Betty Jo and George enjoyed traveling and spending time in their RV. After 62 years of marriage Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband George in 2008.
More than anything in her life, family was the most important to her. She wrote, Family is at the center of life's meaning. Individuals linked together by a golden chain of love. Family celebrates triumphs and shares adversities across generations and across miles. Like a never ending hug, family encircles each member with steadfast devotion and enduring love. Family is belonging to and believing in each other.
She is survived by her children, Steven and his wife Linda, Debbie Gradillas and her husband Miguel, and Sue Cheney; 4 grandchildren, Kerrie Prowse and her husband Randy, Todd Cheney and his wife Theresa, Krista Cheatham and her husband Cole and Shaun Cheney and his wife Tonya; and 6 great-grandchildren, Wren and Orion Prowse, Lily and Erin Cheatam, and Tyler and Farelle Cheney.
Funeral services for Betty Jo will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, with committal service to follow at Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery.
