
Betty Jane Korsmeier, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 1, 2010. She had a lust for life and lived life fully. Jane was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on December 12, 1923. She was one of five children. She graduated from Saint Peter's High School. After graduating she moved to San Francisco, CA. During most of her professional career Jane worked for Dow Chemical Company in San Francisco and later transferred to Los Angeles. This is where she met her second husband, Ray Korsmeier. They married in 1964 and Ray passed away on June 6 of this year.
While living in Sun City Jane and Ray joined Palmbrook Country Club. Jane was very active in the Women's Golf Club and served as President and Team Captain. Jane loved to travel and was able to see many wonderful sites and places during her lifetime.
Jane is survived by her son, Steven Scotten of San Francisco, CA, her step-son, Robert Korsmeier of Dallas, TX and step-daughter, Janet Girod of Santa Rosa, CA. Other surviving family members are sisters, Helen Norkunos of Westminster, CA., Germaine Farrell of Clayton, WI, her brother Robert Raab of Pasadena, CA and granddaughter Kim Scotten from Arkansas.
A Service of Celebration for the Life of Betty Jane Korsmeirer took place on Tuesday, October 4 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sun City. Reverend Douglas Wright performed the service.
