Billy Gene White

94, resident of Sun City, Arizona Passed away on September 21, 2017. He was born in Lamoni, Iowa on June 6, 1923 to Clella and Harold White. Bill met and fell in love with his High School sweetheart Alice Dancer. After graduating from High School in 1941, Bill attended the University of Iowa. For 2 years he enjoyed college life where he played football for the Iowa Hawkeyes until he entered the military service in 1943. Bill then married his sweetheart Alice Dancer on June 24, 1944. While in the service he was with the Company “M” 14th Infantry Regiment; 71st Division. He proudly served in active combat during World War II in Rhineland Central Europe Theater. After his honorable discharge from the service, Bill and his wife Alice made their home in Lamoni, Iowa where he worked with his family at White Bell Motor Company; which later became White Motor Company. He was co-owner of White Motor Company for 32 years with his brother Chuck White and Father, Harold White. In 1978, Bill and his wife moved to Sun City, Arizona, and worked for Don Sanderson Ford. Bill loved to play golf and was instrumental in helping build the Lamoni Golf Club in Lamoni, Iowa. After moving to Arizona, he became a charter member of Union Hills Country Club in Sun City, Arizona and won the club championship in 1986. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Alice in 2002. He is survived by his son Doug White and his wife Margie from Katy, TX, grandson Jason White and his wife Christine from Montgomery, TX, along with his other grandson Darin White and his wife Catherine from Katy, Tx, greatgrandchildren Zachary, Ashley, Mason, Spencer, Tabitha and Alexa. Bill is also survived by his brother Chuck White and his wife JoAnn along with nieces Pam White and Laura Kraft. Bill will be laid to rest next to his wife Alice at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona during a private family service with military honors.
