Bryan Dean Whiteside was born May 15, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jim and Esther Whiteside. After graduation from the University of Missouri with a diploma in Journalism he joined the Navy as an officer with much of his service time spent in Panama.
After fulfilling his service requirements he lived in Omaha, Nebraska where he found singing and playing guitar to be a passion. Eventually he and two friends formed the trio Peter, Paul and Morrie which lasted 21 years performing folk music along with comedy. Bryan’s move to Sun City West, AZ, ended the trio but he soon formed Second Wind with good friend Pete Hirschthal.
The last years of his life were spent expanding his musical endeavors and friendships, assisting his mother until her passing in 2012 and continuing to assist his father.
Bryan is survived by his father James Whiteside; his brother Gary; his sister-in-law Lucille; as well as his cousins Virginia Smith, Marcia Whiteside and others in North Carolina, Texas and the Midwest.
