Claudia Sue Bales

Claudia Sue Bales "Sue", mother to Jeffrey Bales, David Bales, and Susan Bales (Strickland), passed away on June 1, 2026, at 11:41 am. Her final moments were spent in Surprise, Arizona, with family by her side. Sue was born on March 17th, 1945, in Hattiesburg, MS. As a toddler, she and her family moved to Indiana, where she would graduate from Warren Central High School, get married, and go on to become a Beautician. In 1987, she moved her family to Arizona, where she eventually started her own salon and continued living until her death.

Known for her love of her children and grandchildren, hummingbirds, and windchimes, Sue will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Sue's family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her children Jeffrey (Patricia), David, and Susan (Richard); her grandchildren Alekzander, Zachary, Katlin, Kassandra, Robert, Gavin, Jakob; and her great-grandchildren Blake and Grayson. She is also survived by her brother Deane (Kathy) and niece Karyn.

A ceremony will be held at Sunland Memorial Park on June 15, 2026, at 11 am, with a small reception to follow. Flowers may be sent to Sunland Memorial Park, or in place of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of the Valley, which provided amazing care for Sue in her last days.
