

Corrine graduated from North Denver High School in 1949 and went on to pursue a higher education at Denver University. She graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Food and Nutrition in 1956. Corrine had great memories of her Dietetic Internship in Seattle, Washington at King County Hospital. She worked as a therapeutic dietitian at University of Colorado Health Science Center for 8 years. She enjoyed her friendships in the young adult group at Augustana Lutheran church in Denver, CO where she met her husband John A. Carlson. They were married at Augustana Lutheran Church in 1964. Corrine and John welcomed their first son, Mark in 1965 and in 1967 their younger son Paul. They moved to Loveland, CO in 1971. As a stay-at-home mom, Corrine was involved in her faith life at Mountain View Presbyterian Church as a Clerk of Session, Sunday School teacher, Elder and volunteered as a receptionist. She also volunteered on the Music Board of Loveland Civic Music programs. Corrine was all about taking care of her family and making sure all needs were met. She had an easy-going personality and went with the flow of her husband’s and son’s antics. She was always able to make light of painful situations and was a good listener for her family and friends. She proved to be a great seamstress and baker. Everyone looked forward to her spritz and toffee at Christmas and cinnamon rolls at Easter. In her later years, she was an excellent care taker for her husband, John, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 91. She a loving grandma to her grandchildren Joshua and Isabella. Corrine moved from Loveland, CO to Peoria, AZ in 2017 to be closer to her son Mark’s family when she felt she needed more help. Corrine celebrated 92 birthdays! She died January 4, 2024.
Corrine is preceded in death by her parents Gustav Albin and Ingaborg Johnson . Her brothers Leonard and Kenneth (Karen) Johnson and her youngest son, Paul Carlson. She leaves behind and will be missed by her oldest son, Mark (Carla) Carlson, grandchildren Joshua and Isabella Carlson, her daughter in law Rev. Dr. Kimberly Carlson, her sister in law, Evelyn, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and neighbors.
Corrine’s remains will be buried at Loveland Burial Park Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland, CO.
A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024
11am service followed by a reception
