Donna Lee Sailee

If you knew Donna, you knew that she had many wonderful stories and events throughout her lifetime. She was in the girl scouts of Southern California with Actress Debbie Reynolds, even briefly dating, Debbie’s brother, Bill Reynolds. Donna graduated with her Dental Assisting Degree. She went to work for Lockheed Martin in Burbank, California, later working for Desert Hospital in Palm Springs California, this was her favorite place of employment before Donna and her family moved to South Fork Colorado. After moving to South Fork, Colorado, the family opened their own Restaurant, The Rock Away in 1974. Donna was known for her ability to host great experiences while dinning. She was old Hollywood Glamour that was noticed and admired throughout her lifetime. Granted so, due to her mother and father in law owning Sailee’s Restaurant across from the NBC Studios in Burbank, California. In 1997, Donna and Lewis moved to Surprise, AZ to live out the rest of their retirement years. However, retirement couldn’t hold Donna, and she started a new career in an all too fitting location, D'ambrosio Hair Salon. For Donna, Fridays were her hair days, and she would never miss an appointment, you would never catch her without her hair and make-up done, and jewelry on. Donna finally retired in 2006, she was an avid book reader; she spent many hours reading just about every Western, Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts, Tom Clancy and many more novels that she could find. Most evenings, you would be able to find her with a book in one hand and her bourbon in the other.

Donna was fond of evenings spent with her adult children and their families. Donna never met a stranger, and was always on the go. Then in 2010, Donna became ill, she spent the last years of her life on Hospice, proving her Doctors and Medical Team wrong countless times. She was a fighter and she would eventually leave this world on her own terms. Never forgetting what would could be her last breath, she made sure her children knew how much she loved them. She leaves behind her eldest son, Jeff Sailee & wife, Sarah. Her daughter, Janis Sailee – Sorensen & husband, Phillip. Her Grandsons; Jeremy Sailee, Jeffrey Sailee & his wife, Sarina. Great Grandchildren; Callie Cousins, Hadley, Emory & Mavery Sailee, Ryan Sailee. Great-great Grandson; Rhylan Sailee.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband Lewis Sailee Jr. whom she was married to for 51 years before his passing on Oct. 18th, 2006. Her youngest son, Brian Lee Sailee. Her grandson, Corey James Cousins. Her parents, Floyd Marion Funk & Wanda V. Gordon Funk.
