Dorothy M. McGuckin, 99, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully November 3, 2019. She was born October 4, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dorothy was a full time homemaker until about 1965 when she went to work for B. Altman & Company, where she worked for 17 years. She is preceded in death by her son Thomas F., her daughter Mary Frances and her husband Greg; grandchildren: Mary Katherine, Gregory, and Lauren Schmidt; her parents: Walter and Mary Thomas; and her brothers: Walter (Kay) and Daniel (Bernice). Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Christine (Edward) Schmitt, Katherine (Robert) Farrell, and Connie McGuckin; grandchildren: Patrick (Deborah), Brad (Jaime), Kyle (Haley), Michael (Cecily), and Andrew (Katie) Schmitt, Robert III, Mary Katherine, and Christopher Farrell; great grandchildren: Shawn, Sam, and Sara McGuckin, Taylor, Braden, Landen, Kacey, Alessia, Talia, Sienna, Madison, Emilia, and Anderson Schmitt, Caleb and Olivia Farrell. Dorothy loved playing bridge with her friends at Heritage and spending time with her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A private memorial service is being held at Sunland Mortuary.
