Edith I. Hanna, age 96 of Sun City, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at a Group Home in Peoria, Arizona. Edith was born the daughter of Raymond and Blanche Potter on February 14, 1919 in Mitchell County Iowa close to Osage, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Gunder P. ‘Pete’ Hanna on April 27, 1938 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked at several jobs in Iowa during World War II and became a Federal Government Employee working as a Records Clerk for the Air Force Reserve Records Center after they moved to Denver. After moving to Phoenix she worked for the Internal Revenue Service and Bureau of Land Management before her retirement.
Edith’s husband, Gunder ‘Pete’ Hanna preceded her in death, as well as a sister, Lavonne (three days old); and two brothers: Melvin Potter and Alvin Potter.
Edith is survived by her son Philip (Janet) and twin Granddaughters: Denise and Diane Hanna.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 24th at 12:00 p.m. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the committal service to follow. All services will take place at Sunland Mortuary.
