

Edward J. Crist, 94, of Sun City West, AZ, found his peace on April 5, 2015. Ed was born on August 26, 1920 to James and May Crist in his beloved city of Chicago. After graduating high school, he began what would be a 42-year career for the Chicago Park District taking time out to serve his country proudly overseas during World War II.
Ed was an avid traveler and reader and writer of the column “Yesterday’s Kids.” A longtime resident of Sun City, Ed, along with his beloved Lee at his side, founded two bocce clubs, two bowling leagues, a travel club and a Chicago club, many of which are still going strong today.
Ed is survived by daughter Cindy Shoemaker and son-in-law Jack of Tucson, AZ and son Edward J. Crist, Jr. of Wyoming, Michigan; grandson Matt Shoemaker of Scottsdale, AZ; and brother Robert Crist. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lee M. Crist and many siblings.
Visitation will be from 12-12:45 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Burial will follow the mass at Sunland Memorial Park-Haven of Remembrance.
