Elaine G. Breuer, 94, the sweetest and most loving soul in the universe, passed away quietly in her sleep Friday, October 21, 2011. She was born to Goldie and Aaron Goldman in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She was married to Gerald B. Breuer for 53 wonderful, happy years and was preceded in death by him in 1993 and by her beloved son, Jon in 1991. Elaine graduated, Cum laude, from Flora Stone Mather, Women's College of Case-Western Reserve, in Cleveland, Ohio with a BA in English, history and sociology. She taught high school history and English before marrying Jerry in 1940. They traveled extensively during WWII, going from base to base. Upon returning to Cleveland, she assisted her young husband in the early years of his dental practice and then devoted herself to her three young children. She was a Cub Scout leader, a Brownie leader, a Girl Scout leader and President of the PTA for the Shaker Heights school system. Not to mention tutor, chauffeur, mentor and friend. She and dad raised us with love, compassion, humor and generosity; always looking out for our best interests. We are so proud and fortunate to have had them for parents. After their children left the nest, Elaine and Jerry moved to the southwest in 1970, first to El Paso, Texas and then to Phoenix in 1978. Elaine was a loving, generous and gentle woman, a true lady who was devoted to her husband and children. She never judged anyone and taught us the meaning of unconditional love, by example and was our best friend. She trusted you without question and supported dreams with love. There isn't a single day that will pass that we won't miss her smile, her warmth, intelligence and upbeat spirit. The magnitude of her loss cannot be measured.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Jane Clements of Peoria, AZ, Dr. Joan Breuer (Joe) Mcham of Houston, TX. Her granddaughters Mrs. Michelle (Pat) Hansen of Peoria, AZ and Mrs. Stephanie (Garry) Durante of Austin, TX and the three loves of her life, her great-grandchildren; Jaron, Christopher and Kassandra Ward. "Mother, we will miss you forever but we won't say good bye, only, Till we meet again"
