ELIZABETH "Betty" Hansen

Elizabeth “Betty” Hansen, 85, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. She was born in Ilion, New York. Betty left New York when she married the love of her life, Gerald Hansen in Nebraska before they settled in Denver, Colorado.

While Jerry was busy getting started in his business career, Betty was busy taking care of their family of four children. She was a wonderful wife and an amazing mother, and always greeted people with a smile and a hug. Betty was very fun loving and adventurous. She was often known to ride go carts, horses and even motorcycles. Her faith in Jesus Christ was very important to her and she strived to live a life that exemplified that faith.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jerry Hansen; children, Jodi Calvert and her husband, Deryl, James Hansen and his wife, Michele, David Hansen and his wife, Debi and Richard Hansen; sisters, Joanne Rowell, Ruth Kinville and Marion Schmock; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ally and Sean.

Betty will always be remembered for her caring, compassionate heart and genuine smile.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 12, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Sun City, 11019 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351, 623-933-6600.
