Betsy was born August 21, 1948 to Patrick and Catherine "Betty" Gallagher in Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Fred, daughter Mary Beth, son in law Sean, and granddaughter Mikalyn, daughter Stephanie and grandson Colton. She is survived by 4 sisters Debbie, Mary Ann, Cathy and Dawn and predeceased by 2 sisters Patti Jo and Coleen. Betsy also had many nieces and nephews.
Betsy met her husband Fred when they were just 14 years old. They married in 1979.
Betsy spent 20 years working for the New York Police Department as a Senior Police Administrative Aide in charge of Crime Analysis before moving to Arizona and working with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and then working at a charter high school before retiring to spend time with her family.
Betsy was a five time cancer survivor fighting breast cancer 3 times, lung cancer and colon cancer before losing her battle at age 78 to Myelodysplasia with Fred, Mary Beth, Sean and Mikalyn by her side.
