

Ellen Marie Heimann, 87, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Highland, Illinois passed away on December 3rd, 2021. Ellen Meyer was born on November 27, 1934 to Fremont Meyer and Verna Good of rural Highland, Illinois.
She was a graduate of St. Paul's Catholic High School and then married John B. Heimann of Aviston, Illinois on April 19, 1954. They stayed married for over 50 years. John and Ellen then began their journey living in many places both in the US and abroad following John's 20-year commitment as a pilot in the United States Air Force. After John's retirement from the USAF in 1973, John and Ellen came back to Highland where Ellen worked at Ben Franklin and at Something Special, both located on the square in Highland.
In 1998, John and Ellen retired to City, Arizona where Ellen stayed very active in organizations such as the St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church Guild, She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Ellen is survived by her three children Cynthia (Dan) Bekins of Peoria, Arizona, Nancy Leonard of Peoria, Arizona, and John (Audra) Heimann of Irvine, California. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren Scott and Adam Leonard, Madison and Zach Heimann.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Heimann and brother Norman Meyer formerly of Highland, Illinois.
Services will be held at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City, Arizona at 10:00am on Thursday, December 9th followed by an internment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located in Phoenix, Arizona.
