Ellen was born in Milwaukee, WI to Ruth (Fandrich) and Eugene Sawall, their fourth child, survived by her five siblings: Susan Lind (James), Mary Sawall (Jay Kelley), Patricia Cole (Bob), Stephen Sawall (Norma) and Kathleen Consgrove (Tom).
She attended college at the University of Wisconsin at both the Stout and Milwaukee campuses, with a degree in social work. She lived and worked in banking in the Milwaukee area until she moved to the Phoenix area in 2019 to be closer to family. She loved going to the pool, riding her bike, and playing games. Always bright and cheery with a positive attitude, Ellen was a devoted friend. She volunteered and was involved in church activities.
The family will plan a memorial service and mass in Wisconsin in the fall. Her ashes will be interred at the Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum in Mequon, WI at that time.
