

Emily Louise Habluetzel passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the age of 100 in Surprise, Arizona. Emily was a graduate of West Technical High School in Cleveland, Ohio. In her youth she was a member of the Swiss Turner Society and competed in many gymnastics events. Emily was a payroll clerk for thirty-four years for Lamson and Sessions of Cleveland, Ohio. She retired and moved to Sun City West, Arizona where she enjoyed an active life that kept her physically fit. Emily took up shooting pool and enjoyed her new sport and the friends that she made. Emily loved playing cards and bingo and had a drive to win. She also was an avid reader of mysteries. Emily was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend and will be dearly missed. Emily was the fourth of eight children born to George and Emma (Wenger) Habluetzel on January 19, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceeded in death by her parents and her siblings Elsie (Charles “Chick“ Lufkin), Edwin (Maxine Hull), Elmer, Wilbur “Whitey” (Ruth Hammerly), George (Violet “Vi” Loewner), and Herbert “Micky” (Carmella Albertini). Also preceeding her in death were her nephew Glenn “Huck” and Kristen Lufkin; cousins, Lois (Eisenmann) Jones and Alan Eisenmann, her niece Donna Habluetzel and her great-niece Stephanie Lufkin. Surviving is her brother Albert Habluetzel of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also surviving are her nephews and nieces; Gary “Joe” and Lyn Lufkin, Linda and Neil Whittredge, Judy and Andy Simon, Joan and Gary Machovina, Pat and Paul Adams, Rose (Venefra) Lufkin, fourteen great-nieces and nephews, their children, cousins, Evelyn Eisenmann, Bill Jones and children and her friend Marie Kloster. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmstead, Ohio.
