Erin Mary Buban, 98, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on December 30, 2015. She was born on April 14, 1917 to Nicholas and Agnes Neyens. Erin worked as a registered nurse at the Alton Railroad in the 1940s; and retired after 40 years as director of nursing for a major Chicago hospital.
Erin is survived by her daughter Kathy (John) Plunkett; three granddaughters, Shannon Plunkett, Kelly (Brett) Addington, and Jennifer (Jeremy) Dougherty; three great grandchildren, Dean Dougherty, Maggie Dougherty, and Ivy Addington; and a brother, Wayne Neyens. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Buban.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.- 9:45 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016, at Sunland Mortuary - Lakeside Chapel, 15826 Del Webb Blvd in Sun City, Arizona 85351. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Dr., Sun City, AZ 85373. Burial, alongside her husband John, will follow mass at Sunland Memorial Park-Garden of Gethsemane II.
