Ernest E. Wilson—affectionately known as Ernie, Willie, and Papa—passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at the age of 74. Ernest was a man whose presence brought comfort, warmth, and familiarity to all who knew him. He was known for his kindness, strength, and the thoughtful guidance he freely offered.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force and an organ donor, Ernest lived a life grounded in service and generosity. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, and the thought of their reunion brings comfort to those grieving his loss.
Ernest is survived by his loving siblings: Lucy Dodd, Kathy Yingling, Vanda Gilbreath, Kenny and Angela Wilson, Debbie and Brian Rolph, and Pam and Jeff Shirlaw. He was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren and great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. Ernest took great joy in cheering them on at sporting events, celebrating birthdays, and being present for life’s special moments.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14, 2026, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and reflect on the remarkable life he lived. Location of Memorial service and time will be announced.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
