Fidel (Phil) Elizondo passed away on June 26th, 2022. Phil was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 4th, 1934, to Octavio and Juanita Elizondo. He is survived by his wife Joan who he was married to for over 61 years, and his 6 children Michael, Philip (Christine), Caryn (Gene) Gordon, Daniel (Karen), Roxanne (Jeff) Grieger, Christopher (Dana),15 Grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Theodoro, Raul (Romelia), Dora (Jesus) Giraldo, and his many nieces and nephews.
Phil was a soldier in the US Army, and he also served in the National Guard in San Antonio, Texas.
He worked as a dairyman in the Chicagoland area for many years before moving to Arizona in 1987. He lived in Phoenix for 15 years prior to moving to Sun City, Arizona.
Phil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He had lots of stories that he loved to share, and they could always put a smile on your face.
He enjoyed drawing from the time he was a young boy and was a wonderful artist. He also liked working in lapidary, carving in stone, silversmithing, leatherwork, and working with clay. Phil was also an avid antique collector.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Octavio and Juanita, brothers, Octavio, Ricardo, and Jesus, sisters, Juanita, Rosa, and Yolanda, grandmother, Rosa Garcia and his daughter-in-law Marianne
He will be missed more than words can express and will forever live in our hearts!
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at ST Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W Palmeras Dr, Sun City, AZ 85351
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be at 11 a.m. at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351
