Florence Cory passed away December 6th, 2013 at Chaparral Winds senior living facility in Surprise, Arizona. We will greatly miss our beloved mother, sister, wife, grandmother and friend with her caring, love and friendship she selflessly shone on all of us that loved and knew her.
Florence was born November 14th, 1924 to Groziontonio and Mary DeFilippis. She was the second of five children with whom she spent the majority of her youth growing up in Pocatello, Idaho.
Florence first married Creed Reasor and they had a son, Creed Milton "Milt" Reasor. They divorced and she subsequently had a second marriage with A. Paul McCombs from whom she was widowed after a few years. She later married Robert "Bob" Cory and they shared nearly 33 years together; most of which they enjoyed after they both retired in 1985 from Kraft Foods in Pocatello. Florence was employed with Kraft for over forty years retiring as a laboratory technician.
Florence was preceded in death by her mother, father, sisters Lucille (Arthur) Martin, Joshpine (Norman) Anderson, Louise Lefler, Elizbeth (Conny) Moss, and grandson Steven Reasor.
She is survived by her Husband Bob Cory, brother Tony (Corky) DeFilippis, son Milt (Leilani) Reasor and their daughters Tasha and Darcie. Other surviving members of her and Bob's "yours, mine and ours" family include son Robert (Susan) Cory of Cokeville, Wyoming and Lee (Jane) Cory of Pocatello Idaho, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In retirement she enjoyed the home she and Bob built at Happy Trails Retirement community. As soon as the Arizona spring started to heat up, they would travel to the cooler climes up North visiting each of the 48 states, Alaska and parts of both western and eastern Canada.
Florence very much enjoyed traveling with their 5th wheel trailers, motorhome and was a member of Good Sams Club. She made many steadfast friends as an active member of the Happy Trails community and through her and Bob's travels. She loved their boat and had a knack for landing the most and/or the biggest fish. She was accomplished at crocheting, embroidery and could cast and paint award winning ceramic pieces, samples of which are precious possessions of family members. She loved music, singing and even finally pursued her dream of learning to play the organ in her latter years.
Per Florence's wishes, she will be cremated at Sunland Mortuary and will be inurned at the Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona. A memorial service celebrating Florence's life will be held at Happy Trails Christian Fellowship at Neighbor Hood Center 2 at Happy Trails Retirement Community on Thursday, December 12th @ 4:00 PM.
