I am so sorry for your loss.  May the words of our loving heavenly Father bring your family comfort and strength during this most difficult time as He promises to bring our loved ones back to life in a perfect world where there will be no more suffering or death (John 5:28-29 & Revelation 21:4). 

Mary summed up the essence of Florence perfectly.  I only knew Florence for eight years but she shared many of her lifetime of memories with me - always accompanied by food and occasionally a half glass of white wine with ice. Hospitality and Florence went hand in hand. I especially loved hearing her tell of the travels she and Joe enjoyed, many of them by tramp steamer.  Since she had been a schoolteacher, I asked her once  if she ever spanked her students. She said she would give them a paddle and tell  them to spank themselves. With a grin she said "Have you ever tried to spank yourself? You can't!"  She reminisced about playing golf with Quail Run neighbors and the inevitable get togethers that followed; playing Mah Jong with neighbors in the cul de sac; the positive impact her parents had on her life;  the love she had for Joe and how she showed it daily as she cared for him. Her artwork, her calligraphy,  her unwavering faith, her love of roses and chocolate- so many memories flood my mind when I think of her. I will miss you, my friend, your smile, your soft voice and your love.


Florence was the true friend - the one who listened, smiled, cautioned, chided (ever so gently), and challenged me to be the best person I could be. Never morose but always happy, she was a giver in a world of takers; a support in difficulties; a joyous friend in good times; a rare friend - that true gift from above.      
I have missed Florence for 45 years - such was the impact she had in my life. Auvoir, my dear friend!  We shall meet again!       - Mary

Florence is predeceased by her husband, Joseph; parents, Laurette and Harvey Fouchey; and sister, Annette Hobbs.  She is survived by her step daughter Doreen (Don) Sensoli and many friends from Calligraphy Society and Art Clubs.
