Floyde "Bill" W. Kozacek

Floyde Wilson Kozacek "Bill", 91, of Peoria, AZ passed away May 30, 2022. Bill was born January 29, 1931, in Enid, Oklahoma to Floyd S. and Mary W. Manis McReynolds. He was later adopted by his stepfather Frank Kozacek. He lived in Aurora, Colorado for the first 62 years of his life; then moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado in 1993 and to Peoria, Arizona in 2003.

He attended William Smith High School in Aurora, where he played football and participated in the school band. He met his life-long love Josephine in band in 1944. She asked him to the Sadie Hawkins Dance but their first date was actually to a football mixer. They married on Valentine’s Day 1949. He worked construction all his life, mostly in the tile and floor covering trade. But he was very multi-talented and could build most anything. He also loved camping and traveling.

Bill was devoted to his wife and family and supported them in all their efforts. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, El Jebel Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star. He was official escort for and traveled the world with Josephine for Eastern Star - most notably every state in the USA, and also Peru, Aruba, Mexico, Canada and Austria.

He belonged to Burns Methodist Church in Aurora, and transferred to Willowbrook United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ, where he volunteered in the sound booth.

Bill was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Josephine (March 27, 2022). He is survived by his children Kenneth Kozacek (spouse, Marlene) of Santa Fe, NM, Marcy Carroll (spouse, Richard) of Libertyville, IL, and Kevin Kozacek (spouse, Cindy) of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren (Adam Kozacek, Amanda Albertson, Matthew Kozacek, Cathy Paulsen, and Chris Kozak); 9 great-grandchildren.
