It's been 4 years since my grandpa passed. I still think about him often, although the memories become more fuzzy as time goes on. I love you forever, GPa. 

Anyone who knew my grandpa knew his great character. He was always trying to make people smile, whether it was by helping them out with a task, or cracking a joke to make them smile. He lived a long life, full of memories with my beautiful grandmother, as well as memories with our family. My grandpa and I became a lot closer as I got older and I began to appreciate his incredible sense of humor and his love for those closest to him. I am his only granddaughter, as well as his only grandchild. I know that he loved me so much, and I am so grateful for the time that I got to share with him, although I wish I had more.

Grandpa, thank you for loving me and sharing all of your stories from your life with me. Thank you for "wrastling" with me and teaching me that humor is the most important medicine that exists. Thank you for talking to me on the phone for hours, and for never losing interest in my studies or personal life. I love you so much, and I am so happy that I got to be introduced to all of your friends as your "favorite granddaughter." You are so loved. Say hi to grandma for me.

My dad Bud Powell asked me to share a memory for him.  He said he would miss his brother.  They worked hard together on the farm when they were growing up.

It is always hard to loose a loved one.  We were sorry to hear of your dad’s passing.  I remember when we were young Uncle Fred would give my oldest sister a birthday spanking every time he came even though it was not her birthday.
