George was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His parents George and Wilma Basl moved the family to Southern California while George was in grade school. He went on to study Television Engineering at Columbia College in Hollywood. His career took him from California to Florida and then to Colorado before he settled in Phoenix, Arizona and started his lifetime career with Fox Broadcasting. In 1984 George bought his beloved Ford F150 at Sanderson Ford which he drove daily until he acquired his 1966 Ford GT Mustang in 2010. Both were his pride and joy that he loved to show off at The Pavilions on Saturday.
When not at the car show, George enjoyed square dancing, riding his bicycle, swimming in his pool and shooting the breeze down at Vista Auto Sales with his friends. His favorite musical artists were the Beach Boys and Marty Robbins and he would spend down time watching Hallmark movies.
In August 2017 George met the love of his life Mary and in 2018 they married and George became the proud father to her daughter Airine. They enjoyed travelling together, spending time both in the Philippines and exploring the sights in Arizona.
