He was raised in Yellowstone National Park. The Family lived in Mammoth Hot Springs at the Park's headquarters. This allowed him to have many wonderful and exciting adventures. It was always fun to sit and listen to Dixie and George reminisce about their adolescent years in the Park. George graduated from Gardiner High School in Gardiner, Montana. Upon his dad's death, the family moved to San Jose, California. He entered San Luis Obispo College to Study electrical engineering. After his second year, it was clear the draft was eminent. He decided to join the Air Force before he was drafted. That way, he could choose his technical school. He served from 1959 until 1963. After fulfilling his military service, he took a job in electronics in the San Francisco Bay area. Eventually he moved to Zuni, New Mexico where he went to work for Ampex Electronic plant on the Zuni Indian reservation. This is where he met his wife, Dina. They were married one and a half years later. When the Ampex plant closed, the Zuni Indian Tribe hired him as a pilot. Later he accepted a pilot position at Four Corners Aviation in Farmington, New Mexico, where they remained living for over 35 years. George eventually transitioned into the construction business and became a skillful trim Carpenter. When Dina retired from teaching, they moved to the Sun City Area in Arizona. George loved the outdoors. They always had motorhomes and travelled extensively. George loved fly fishing, hiking, photography, and spending time with his family. If we remember anything about George was his smile! He was a man of little words. A perfectionist, he wouldn’t be restricted by time frames. He wanted each project he worked on to be perfect, no matter how long it took. He would work tirelessly until it was flawless. George will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
