Gerald Paul Deike (Gerry), 78, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on February 17, 2021, at his home in Peoria, Arizona. He was born June 12, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Anthony and Lorraine (Budzinski) Deike. Gerry will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Sandy (Ott) Deike, also from Saginaw, Michigan.
After learning his trade as an apprentice at Baker Perkins in Saginaw, Gerry became an accomplished, respected tool and die maker. His professional career working with General Motors fed his life-long hobby as a car enthusiast. Later, Anheuser-Busch sought his talents in Texas and then California, where he retired.
Gerry is survived by his loving children: Kenneth Deike and wife Kiyomi in Okinawa, Japan; Kimberly Heser and husband Craig in Brookfield, Wisconsin; Kari Morris and husband Jerry in Saint Simons Island, Georgia; and Kraig Deike and wife Kristin in Santa Fe, New Mexico; three grandchildren in Okinawa -- Patrick, Alex, and Niki; granddaughter Sarah in Santa Fe; brothers Richard Deike and wife Nancy, and Jon Deike; and great grandchildren and extended family.
Gerry is preceded in death by his father and mother as well as siblings Susie Deike, Anthony Deike Jr., Teresa (Tracey) Deike, Jeff Deike, and grandson Christopher Deike.
