

Funeral services will be held December 28, 2018 at Sunland Memorial Park 11:00 AM. with the Reverend Billie Martini of Unity of Surprise, officiating. Private family burial will follow at The National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary and Crematory.
Harold Stephen Lafler was born in Naples, New York to Lloyd Lafler Sr. and Grace Carson on January 30, 1937. He went to school in Waterloo, NY. He married Frances E. Cail in September 1959 in Upstate New York. He graduated from Luther Rice College. He worked for Corporate America at Greyhound Capital Corporation, changed careers, and became an ordained Minister. He founded The Center for Life Awareness later known as The Southwest Miracles Center in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he became the Senior Minister and Executive Director until his retirement. He continued offering counseling to those in need and facilitated ACIM groups until his passing.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Navy and retired at Master Chief Petty Officer to the Chief of Naval Operations. He was a member of the Unity of Surprise Church and a leader in the A Course in Miracles community. He taught self-development classes at the community college level and facilitated many ACIM groups throughout the Valley. He received many accolades as a gentle and gracious teacher/mentor in the ACIM community and loved by his students. He was an inspiration and will not be forgotten by all of those whose lives he touched.
Harold is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Sr. , his mother Grace, step mother Loretta, brother Lloyd Jr, daughter Elizabeth, son Scott Joseph, grandparents, uncles, aunts and his great niece Toni).
Harold is survived by Frances Lafler, Beth Griffith, brother Gene and his wife Sharon, sister Barbara, his son Michael, daughter DeAnn, his grandchildren Austin, Amanda, Andrew and Vanessa, his nieces, great nieces and nephews.
