

Huey Lee Taylor was born in Marshall, Texas to the union of Johnnie Taylor and Willie Mae Williams Taylor on June 17, 1936. He was the fifth of six children and was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers.
After graduating from high school, Huey joined the United States Navy where he served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1961. He met and married his wife, Gloria Rockwell, in 1965. To this union three daughters were born: Kimberly, Erika, and Kristie.
Huey graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Sociology. In 2000, he retired from both the City and County of San Francisco and the state of California.
Huey was baptized into Christ as a youth and served faithfully in the church of Christ until his passing. He loved gardening and the outdoors. His joys were spending time with family and close friends, and attending worship services and bible classes.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years; his three daughters and sons-in-law; four grandchildren; two sisters; and a host of other beloved relatives, church family and friends.
Huey is remembered for his easy-going nature, his smile, gentleness, kindness and warm personality. He was a light to his beloved family and others. Huey will be truly missed.
