Born on September 21, 1941, Jack lived a remarkable life filled with art, travel, and love.
Jack graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and later graduated from Art Center College of Design, where he honed his skills as an artist, illustrator, sculptor, and interior designer.
Jack served his country honorably in Vietnam where he rose to the rank of Captain, and worked in military intelligence. Jack was assigned to General Westmoreland's Joint Staff in Saigon. He was proud of his service, and of his fellow soldiers, and he created art that celebrated the courage and sacrifices of American servicemen.
After his army service, Jack had a successful career as an interior designer. His business, Adams Design, was based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He excelled at hotel and restaurant design, as well as residential design. Adams Design flourished, and in the 1980s, repeatedly ranked as one of the top 50 Interior Design firms in the USA in the annual rankings of Interior Design Magazine. He designed hotels in Hawaii, Singapore, and Dubai.
Jack had a passion for travel and made friends wherever he went. His art and photography were informed and enriched by his travels, and he shared the beauty he saw in this world with his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Carol.
Jack has two adult children, Andrew Robert Adams, and Felicity Ann Adams. His family members and friends who loved him will miss him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jack’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Jack's recent caretakers, Pedro, Dawn, Bea, Natalie, Bernice, and especially to Stephanie, for their compassionate and devoted care.
Jack will be deeply missed, but his legacy of creativity, artistic talent, ingenuity, and the appreciation of beauty, lives on in his artwork and interior designs, his children and grandchildren, and in the memories he created with those whose lives he shared. May he rest in peace; A Hui Hou.
A graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Az.
