Jacqueline Joyce “Jackie” Templer passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 83. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Jackie was the cornerstone of her family and brought warmth, laughter, and an inspiring strength to all who knew her.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Jackie graduated from Von Steuben High School, where she forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. She was an independent spirit from a young age; in her twenties, her younger sister Ellen taught her to drive a stick-shift in a VW Bug, and from that moment on, Jackie exclusively drove cars with a manual transmission.
Jackie met the love of her life, Stewart Templer (Stu), and they eventually settled in the northern Chicago suburb of Northbrook. There, they set their roots, bought a cozy home on Chipili, and raised their two beautiful daughters, Cheryl and Cindy. Jackie dedicated her career to finance, working as a skilled bookkeeper for various manufacturing companies across the Chicagoland area.
Upon retirement, Jackie and Stu headed west to Sun City Grand, Arizona. They quickly built a home and a large network of friends, enjoying the warm climate and faithfully taking their annual vacation to Mexico. While Jackie loved a good frozen strawberry margarita and a great laugh with her “favorite” son-in-law, Vince, she also dedicated herself to the gym. Jackie eventually began competing in Masters Powerlifting, where she won championships, showcasing a determination and physical strength that inspired everyone around her.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stewart Templer, her parents Max and Edna Keer, and her brother Lowell, as well as several close friends and cousins.
She is survived by her loving daughters Cheryl D’Aliesio (and husband Vince D’Aliesio) and Cindy Templer; her adored grandchildren, Noah, Sophie, and Matthew D’Aliesio; and her sister Ellen Weingarten (and husband Dr. Michael Weingarten).
Jackie and Stu were generous supporters of charities dedicated to helping children. In their honor, the family asks that you consider a donation to StJude.org, which helps kids with cancer, or a children’s charity of your choice.
