James is remembered with deep respect for a life marked by steady work, steadfast responsibility, and a devotion that endured through every season. In all the years entrusted to him, he carried himself with quiet purpose, offering the kind of constancy that family members come to rely upon and cherish.
An avid bridge player, James taught and played up until he moved into memory care. He also played on a bowling league and loved to play bocce ball—pursuits that reflected his discipline, focus, and appreciation for time shared with others.
James is survived by his daughter-in-law Jaye Hill; his grandchildren Anevay, Joey, Katie, and Heidi; and several great-grandchildren, including blood and step. He was preceded in death by his three sons and five wives. James will be entombed with his late wife Phyllis, with whom he shared forty five wonderful years.
