Obituary of Janice Margaret Gustafson
IN THE CARE OF

Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center

Janice Margaret Gustafson, age 83, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Born and raised in Quincy, MA, she was the beloved daughter of Richard and Catherine Prunier and a cherished sister to Kathleen, Joseph, Mary, and Anne.

A devoted mother, she raised her children—Catherine, Sean, Lynn, and Joseph—in Southern California before returning to her hometown of Quincy in 1978. She moved to Arizona to be close to her sister, Anne in 1992. She is also the grandmother of seven and a great grandmother of two.

She had a fulfilling career, working as a Ward Manager in hospitals, contributing to the electronics manufacturing industry, and later serving as a dedicated Medical Office Manager.

Her passion for indigenous cultures was evident in her deep appreciation for their arts and traditions. She was also an avid lover of musicals, with Les Misérables holding a special place in her heart. A voracious reader and movie enthusiast, she found joy in stories of all kinds.

Known for her unwavering spirit, she had a stubborn streak—she “liked what she liked,” and that was that. But above all, she was quick with a smile, bringing warmth and kindness to those around her, especially to all the friends she made throughout her life.

Later in life, she faced the challenges of dementia, yet even in her final days, moments of light still shone through in her eyes and smile. She relied deeply on her faith, trusting that the loving Mother would guide her through her many trials. There were countless moments when she felt she couldn't go on, yet with God's unwavering love and guidance, He led her home—where she had long yearned to be. At last, she is home, just as He promised.

Now at peace, she leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. Mum, you will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
