

John M. Boullosa passed away peacefully on July 30, 2023 in Sun City West, Arizona, at the age of 91. John was born on April 25, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York to Ricardo and Nancy Boullosa. John is survived by his three sons, John (Kathleen), James (Laura), and Jeff (Lisa). He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 4 nephews. Additionally, John leaves behind his brother Richard and sister-in-law Barbara. He was predeceased by his lovely wife of 57 years, Patsy Nicholas in 2012. He was also predeceased by his brother Anthony and sister-in-law Judy. John served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Korean War on the USS Midway, as an Engineer Mate. He was also on the boxing team on the carrier. While serving in the Navy, he met his wife Patsy while stationed in Seattle, Washington, and they were married in 1955. John, also known as Pop, or Papa John to his grandchildren, always had interesting stories about his life in the Navy, but also as a bull rider and bronc rider in the East Coast Circuit before he went into the Navy. He also served as a voluntary firefighter for the Erskine Lakes Fire Department in Ringwood, New Jersey for over 30 years. John worked as an HVAC Technician for 44 years, and was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union. He was also a member of the Knight’s of Columbus as a 3rd Degree for 50 years. In addition to that, he was appointed a Marshall of the Ringwood Borough Police Department in 1968. John’s physical and moral strengths exceeded all natural mortal standards, and will be forever blessed in Heaven. His family of birth, and the people of this earth, will be forever grateful for how he touched our lives. What a life he lived, he will be truly missed and remain forever in our hearts. A burial with military honors for John will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in John’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 14066 W. Waddell Road, Surprise, Arizona 85379.
