June Elizabeth (Anderson) Stockhaus passed away August 17, 2017 after a brief illness. Born on January 18, 1923 in Indiana Harbor, IN, to Carl and Ellen (Johnson) Anderson, June moved to Arizona in 1946, first to Tucscon with her husband, Fred, then to Superior. When a coaching opportunity arose for Fred, the growing family then moved to Flagstaff. June graduated from Arizona State College (now Northern Arizona University) and began a long career teaching in the Flagstaff School District, mostly as a first grade teacher at Seacrist School. After retirement, June and Fred spent many years traveling to exotic locations, including, but not limited to China, Russia, and the Middle East. They especially enjoyed taking cruises, meeting new people, and creating life-long friendships. A passionate Life Master Bridge player, many trips taken were combined with her enjoyment of the game.
June’s passing was preceded by her husband, Fred, in 2010, and both of her sons, Daniel (2016) and William (2005).
June is survived by her grandson, Scott (Terri) Betzer, great grand-daughter Abigail Betzer; daughter-in-law Diane, step-granddaughter Melanie (Matt) Fuemmeler, great grand-sons Isaac and Caleb Fuemmeler, and many friends.
In a private ceremony, June will be inurned at Arizona National Memorial Cemetery adjacent to Fred…side by side.
