L. Glindeene Bailey

Glindeene is survived by her daughters: Cydnee and Kelli; 6 grandchildren: Lauri, Brandi, Kristien, Patrick, Mason and Justin; 6 great-grandchildren: Austin, Kymberlee, Tatum, Madeleine, Blake, and Addison; and sister Bettye. She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel, her son, Sam, her parents, and 5 siblings: Floye, Owen, Muggy, Leonard, and Ivy Gene.

Glindeene was born on January 28, 1926, in Wesson, AR to Isaac and Lettie Eskew. As a child, her family moved to west Texas where she grew up and graduated from high school. On January 29, 1944, she married Sam Bailey, her husband of 66 years. In 1964, she and Sam relocated their family from Texas to the Willcox area in southern AZ. Throughout the years, Glindeene worked as a homemaker, bookkeeper, middle school secretary and clerk at a local store. In 1996, Sam and Glindeene relocated to the Phoenix area.

Glindeene was known for her hospitality and home cooked meals. She loved people and was definitely loved by others. She accepted the Lord at the age of 12. Glindeene greatly valued her relationship with the Lord and took pleasure in serving Him throughout the rest of her life. Her memory will live on forever in the lives of those she touched.

Glindeene was laid to rest at Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sun City, AZ on Friday, February 14, 2014.
