Lawrence James Wagner Sr., 74, Avondale, Arizona passed away on April 15th, 2019 surrounded by his family. Larry was born on December 18th, 1944 to Ruth and Lawrence Wagner in Chicago, Illinois. Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Larry attended Chicago Vocational High School and enrolled in the US Navy. After serving, he worked a few jobs to find his calling which was sales. He loved the interaction with people, and developing relationships that would last a lifetime. He retired from Mallinckrodt after years of service to his industry and customers. Larry married his wife, Mary Lou on August 3rd, 1963. They resided in Chicago, Colorado Springs and finally moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1977. Larry's loves included fishing, motorcycles, boats and cars. He was involved in the hot rod community attending numerous shows and auctions. He loved giving back to the community. He would often attend events with both the car community and motor cycle community where charities were involved and helped raise money for several in need. Larry's humor and attitude made him loved by one and all. He did not meet many people that he did not like. He loved talking to people and telling them how important that they were to him. He would share stories of his life and experiences with friends for hours at a time. He found joy sitting behind his 55 Chevy sharing stories about cars, bikes, food, and family. Larry was proceeded in death by his mother Ruth and father Lawrence. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou, his brother Jack, sister Marilyn and his sons Bob, Larry Jr. and Shawn as well as his 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Larry would want all that knew him to enjoy life, love family and of course tell a good story or two. He would want you to know that he went out on his terms.. I did it my way. He was clear to let you know that he had a full life and accomplished just about everything on his bucket list.
