Linda Jane Ozmun

December 14, 1947March 4, 2018

Linda Jane Ozmun passed away March 4, 2018 in Surprise, AZ. Linda chose to stop dialysis after 3 1/2 years and call hospice. She was confident and at peace with her decision.

She was born December 14, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Eleanor Ozmun.

She lived most of her life in Libertyville, Illinois—kindergarten through college—making lifelong friends wherever she went. 36 years with American Airlines as a flight attendant enabled world adventures and many close relationships.

Linda was formerly married to Larry Struggles.

Linda retired to Surprise, AZ, where she enjoyed time with her mother and acquired many new friends. Everyone she met loved her. She played golf, bridge, mahjong, and excelled in cooking.

She is survived by her late sister Carol Jarrell, her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Jim Hyland, her very special niece Melissa May(Michael)—Gunner and Gianna, nephew Wade Jarrell (Diani), special friend Lou Gray, his children Denise Royer(Rick) and Michael Luliucci (Beth), and her special loves Scruffy and Riley—woof woof!

In honoring Linda’s wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, Linda requests donations be made to the Gary in her name. She loved and supported our military!!

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. I’ve found peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys: A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things, I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow Look for the sunshine ☀️ of tomorrow.

My life’s been full; I savored much— Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Lift up your heart ❤️. Peace to thee. God wanted me now, He set me free.😇

RIP Linda, Although I lost track of you after Libertyville H.S. days, I thought of you often over the years - remembering great times with you and your/our friends. Always a smile and a great attitude - and fun to be around. Wish now that I had remained in communication during your life. I will see you in the future - and rejoice with you ! God Bless you and your family and friends. Gary Jones

What can you say about a friend who over the years shared so many memories I met Linda in High School and had a group of friends that got into all kinds of trouble over the years Bonnie , Shari most of the pack are with Linda now.
Linda and I started the SOLO Singles Club in Libertyville where she met Larry Struggles just one of the things we did together!!!
They say in life you can count your true friends on one hand and Linda was sure one of them she called me Borkie to the end. Rest in Peace my friend my heart is breaking

Oh the memories of my "Ant" Linda--the one who pretended to flush my favorite Snoopy stuffed animal down the toilet because I was acting like a total brat when I was about 3. I'm STILL traumatized and feel like it happened yesterday! Ha! The same "Ant" who had me over during the holidays and we put on creepy masks and poked around the neighbors house to scare them... who does that??? Hilarious!! My Ant, who after my Grandma's funeral, said, "Missy, you're hired to speak at mine!" Haha! Who says that? My poor Ant--the germaphobe. And I asked her to dog-sit my dog! I'm sure back then she was absolutely appalled to have a dirty, shedding animal in her 100% WHITE, sparkling house! But hey, she was family! Luckily, she liked it and eventually got Scruffy and Riley! She always cracked me up with her crazy antics. Memories with my Aunt are great ones that will always make me smile. She will be missed!

Our friendship was born out of one our mothers formed with each other. We were on the same path. My sweet passionate friend, Linda was an angel sent here for the time she chose. She was fun, caring, supportive, loving, bright, and always in your corner! Scruff and Riley stole a piece of her heart . She was little in structure but oh, so strong !!! I loved her and am blessed to have had her in my life. One day we’ll meet again.

RIP Hon... I could fill a book with all the wonderful memories we shared for over 30 years.... You were a delight and were always there for me and my kids and grandkids...they will miss you. I remember when we first met at party that the SOLO singles club threw. A club you and your friends started. We hit it off right from the beginning. I am glad we had a chance to talk two weeks before you were gone. You told me what your plans were and we had a chance to say our good-bye's. Hey kid...the "Most".... Lar

I'm Chrissy. Cassie Struggles is my best friend. I grew up going on adventures with Cassie, Larry and Linda. Lots of Limo rides, circus, out to dinner, boat rides. Linda was a joy to be around. She brought kindness to each adventure. So sorry for your loss. God Speed.

I have been very lucky to have Linda , my husband’s aunt in my life. She was very kind, generous and she made you feel very special. She accepted me and embrassed me into the family; gave us the best American Style Christmas one can ever have. I was spoilt when I visited her and stayed with her in her beautiful homes. I felt like a child in a candy store when I am with her. Blessed your heart Linda . We played games passing the time and fun we had. I cherish the memories! Love U and miss you . May the angels guide you home Rest in Peace Linda , Diani

Dear sweet Linda was one of the most caring people I have ever known. A wonderful friend and the best mom to her pups. She will be so missed. God bless her. She is well and bringing her love and joy to Heaven.
